Announcements

5.10.26

We wish all mothers a blessed and happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for your love, sacrifice, and the faith you pass on to your families. You are a gift to our parish and to the Church.

Next Sunday, on the Feast of the Ascension, Bishop Jorge Rodriguez will join us at 9:30 a.m. Mass as we help inaugurate the pastoral care for immigrants in our parish and throughout the Archdiocese. All are welcome. Please help us make the Bishop feel welcome.

Our youth group will also have a food sale after all Masses next weekend to help support their pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi, and Medjugorje. Thank you for your support and generosity.

Annunciation YA

January 29th we're launching our AYA nights (Annunciation Young Adults) at 7pm.

These nights will be focused on building community around a 4 week cycle of formation, prayer, service and socials. Each giving you an opportunity to grow in faith, love and community.

Formation nights will include anything from featured speakers in the courtyard, in-depth theological presentations to green giant nights (Catechism nights), sacred scripture series nights and Theology on taps.

Prayer nights will include intentional opportunities to help you grow in prayer. We want to help you deepen and strengthen your spiritual life. We'll have candlelight masses, Eucharistic Holy Hours, SERAPHIC nights of Worship and even days for recollection and reflection.

Service Days - Service days will involve some kind of outreach or mission work either in the evening or Saturdays. We'll do anything from handing out food on the streets, volunteering with the Capuchin food truck or the Food Bank, team up with Christ in the City, Cleaning or organizing around our parish campus, or helping at the community garden. These days will be designed to help us grow as a community while being on mission together in our own backyard.

Social Nights - These nights will include game nights, sports nights, brewery visits, seasonal activities such as ski days, ice-skating, movie nights, Super Bowl parties, home hangouts, summer time BBQ's, ice Cream nights and restaurante visits.

2026: Year of St. Francis

On January 10th, Pope Leo XIV officially declared the 2026 Liturgical year as the year of St. Francis, marking the 800th year of his death. This special announcement invites the faithful from all over the world to join together, and follow closely the example of St. Francis of Assisi as a model of holiness.

This means special opportunities to receive plenary indulgences that come from celebrating this year. As a parish operated by the Franciscan Capuchin friars, this is exciting news for us, for ur parish community, school and food bank. Stay tuned to hear more ways to live out this special year of St. Francis.
